Me and my family live in the capital city-Yerevanâ⬠¦You probably havenââ¬â¢t even heard of my country because it is so far from you and that is what makes this so amazing, because here I am writing to you from ââ¬Å"my worldâ⬠-a whole different worldâ⬠¦ Well, It is a little difficult to tell about me (I donââ¬â¢t even know what to start with), but I am fairly sure that it is better to learn about each otherââ¬â¢s views, preferences, lifestyles beforehand, so that weââ¬â¢ll be able to avoid any kinds of misunderstandings in the future. I would truly want us to be friends. And let me start- here is my lifeâ⬠¦ I want to tell you a bit about my country and city I was born in. Armenian is often called ââ¬Å"a museum in the open airâ⬠. She is a third-year student of a Theatrical University and I think she will succeed in her profession and one day we all will be very proud of her- she has got a talent and love for her work. I love animals, I love to take care of them. They are lots of fun to watch and play with. Plus, they make pretty good ââ¬Å"friendsâ⬠for us, so we have two happy creatures in our family. Im a Christian, but I also have some interest and great respect for other religions and their views on life and beliefs. I think world is too big and too different to be bent to one explanation or one theory. I consider myself an open-minded, friendly and tolerant person. Regardless of my mood I value relationships and respect other peopleââ¬â¢s opinion. My Best Accomplishment One of my accomplishments that I am most proud of is being one of the winners of FLEX (Future Leader Exchange Program) program. To participate in this program and to have the real opportunity to live and study in U.S was my very best dream. It was my main goal for that time. When I found out that I am one of the finalists, the world was mine. I was the most happy and proud person on the Earth. After that I live by the slogan ââ¬Å"Everything is possible-no limitations in opportunities and chancesâ⬠. The Activities I would like to participate in while in the US. One of the activities I am hoping to do is to make a project , kind of a presentation with other international students. The purpose of project would be to inform, to share with and to show the students and the staff on the campus the differences between our countries, how truly amazing and fascinating they are. And how we complete each other. To show them their own culture from the vantage point of someone elseââ¬â¢s culture. To share with traditions and rituals and world-views of another countries. By being exposed to so many diverse traditions they will understand the significance of keeping their own traditions alive. I would also like to be a member of campus clubs and organizations. That way I would be well informed all about campus and would gain more experience about team-works and skills on good leadership. My dear roommate, This is all I can think of how to introduce mysel f and it was a great pleasure. I would like to conclude my writing by the following, said by Frederick Douglas, the renowned abolitionist of the 19-th century: ââ¬Å"Men who travel should leave their prejudice at home â⬠and with that in mind I would love to meet you soon. Best Wishes, Anna

(verb) As a transitive verb, face means, ââ¬Å"to show a brave or strong face to; to meet (danger, an enemy, or anything unpleasant) face to face; to oppose with confidence or defiance; to confront and deal with.â⬠As a transitive verb used either as a main verb or in its -ing form, face requires an object: You face a difficult decision, and you must deal with it. (direct object: ââ¬Å"a difficult decisionâ⬠) The most common problem facing poor households is late payment of rent or utilities. GOP Assembly candidates to face off in August 12 primary Because Iââ¬â¢m used to seeing facing used transitively, with a direct object, I was surprised to encounter this use of facing followed by an adverb phrase: Katniss, like many of her dystopian YA counterparts, faces a conflict larger than man vs. nature ââ¬â shes man vs. man,à facing against an oppressive government. More idiomatic usage would be, ââ¬Å"facing an oppressive government,â⬠or ââ¬Å"fighting against an oppressive government.â⬠I found similar usage in two comments relating to popular music: I believe that Wish Upon a Blackstaris about the struggle greed brings to the world, and facing against the oppression caused by it. Songs that follow, like Corrupted and [the] album closer Invincible, continue the theme of defiance and facing against oppression in whatever forms they may appear. Facing is often followed by against in the context of facing traffic: Youà must not park on a road at night facing against the direction of the traffic flow. If there is no sidewalk and you have toà walkà on the road,à walk facing against traffic. In any other context, following facing with against strikes my ear as unidiomatic: Any tips for facing against the Nova matchup? Ancelotti on facing against Manchester United Tired of facing against Shaman bots A few more expressions with the verb face: face up to: accept that a difficult situation exists. Labour must face up to its past mistakes. face head on: confront a problem directly and openly. Le Morte dArthur Essay -- essays research papers
The Chivalric Code in Le Morte d?Arthur à à à à à An act of chivalry is described as the qualifications or character of the ideal knight. Knights were expected to uphold this code of conduct. In the English literature Le Morte d?Arthur, French for ?The Death of Arthur?, by Sir Thomas Malory, the characters display acts of chivalry from beginning to end. Though the code of chivalry contains many qualities or acts, nevertheless bravery, loyalty, and courtly love are demonstrated more throughout this literature. à à à à à Bravery is the mental or moral strength to venture and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty. Fear is what one feels when fighting, knowing that he or she could die. For example, when Sir Mordred and King Arthur were to fight, Arthur was told that if he fought Mordred, Arthur would die. Regardless, Arthur fought Mordred. Though not stated in the text, one would assume that Arthur had fear of himself dying running through his brain, and that would explain how his adrenaline got pumped up enough to kill Mordred. Difficulty is going against someone who is more skilled. When the young Sir Gryfflette challenged King Pellinore to a joust to avenge a knight?s death, Gryfflette lost, but because he went up against a more experienced person, he was demonstrating an act of bravery. The danger of the two is that one can always die in matters such as those. à à à à à Bravery and loyalty can go hand-in-hand with o...

Family Life Is Undergoing Drastic Changes as a Result of Industrialization and Modernization. Elaborate.
Family life is undergoing drastic changes as a result of industrialization and modernization. Elaborate. The family has changed a lot throughout time; this is a result of industrialization and modernization. Industrialization refers to mass production of products with machinery in a factory. Modernization is the development of social, cultural, economic and political practices and institutions, which are found in todayââ¬â¢s society. Such developments and changes in society may replace religious beliefs with scientific beliefs, replacement of monarchies with democracy systems. After these changes in society the family structure changed; nowadays the family is smaller in size. Today the family only consists of two adults and no more than three children. Other modern family types are symmetrical families, where both parents share conjugal roles. The modified extended family is like the classic extended family but instead of all the family members to live in the same household they li ve close by. Due to death of a partner, divorce or having kids out of wedlock; Single parent families are quite common in todays society as well, this is where a lone parent heads the family. In some societies same sex couples are accepted to have their own family with children as well who are either adopted or surrogate mother. Nowadays the family is no longer a unit of production since it has lost functions due to industrialization and modernization where individuals study for a specific field and are not capable of carrying out certain functions that the family used to do. Therefore the family needs other institutions in the society to be able to live and maintain its family life.Nowadays the society has institutions for health and education; in the past school wasnââ¬â¢t compulsory, and not everyone could afford schooling for their children so they chose to make their children work so the family could earn more money. In the pre-modern society healthcare was not much of a conc ern, in fact it was something that was taken care of by the familyâ⬠¦nowadays in the society we find a health institutions which therefore takes another function, which the family used to perform.Since the industrialization family changed because the father in the family had to go out of the house to work in a factory instead of working as farmers as most families used to do. This earned the family money so they could buy other products and services from the market since the family is no longer a unit of production. Nowadays religion beliefs are not given much importance and donââ¬â¢t effect most family lives. This is due to secularization, which is when the religion is not given importance when it comes to the countryââ¬â¢s business.
